CELEBRITY Adwoa Aboah
Model and activist Adwoa Aboah is the power behind the online platform Gurls Talk. As a safe space for women to discuss race, gender, self-esteem, relationships, and so much more, her Instagram has a following of 148k and has helped countless females across the globe. By bringing this productive platform to a public festival, Aboah hopes to connect women of all ages and backgrounds through empowerment and shared experience.
Aboah believes Gurls Talk was meant "to create a space wherein girls can have honest conversations about everything," she told Teen Vogue. Instead of a platform where girls were merely being told how to feel, Aboah emphasized the importance of conversations coming "from women these girls can relate to, women who are speaking from experience," she said.
In collaboration with Coach and Teen Vogue, Aboah is bringing the Gurls Talk Festival to Brooklyn, NY on March 11. Admission is free and open to the public, you just need to RSVP at [email protected].
