Don't get your hopes up for those much talked-about post-birth photoshoots that royal moms like Princess Diana and Kate Middleton have posed for—mere hours after producing a human from their bodies—from the Duchess of Sussex. Surprise, surprise: Meghan Markle wants to break another royal tradition.

According to InStyle, Markle is considering opting out of giving birth at the Lindo Wing in St. Mary’s Hospital, where the Duchess of Cambridge had all of her children. That means she won't be taking photos outside of the hospital's maternity ward.

Instead of the pricey hospital, costing about US$9,550 per night, Markle is considering a home birth, which would be at her and Prince Harry's new residence in Windsor, at Frogmore Cottage. She's apparently reading up on hypnobirthing techniques, according to the Daily Mail, which involve paying special attention to breathing, relaxation, and visualization, as well as meditative practice and taking great care with nutrition and positive body toning.

Since this will be Markle’s first child, there’s a strong chance that her doctors will advise a hospital birth. In that case, it's said that she might choose a hospital closer to Windsor.

Her mother, Doria Ragland, is planning to be there for the birth, and a source told Vanity Fair that Ragland is one of the people encouraging Markle to have a natural birth. The Duchess' mother is a yoga instructor, and Markle is a known health and wellness advocate, having previously described the practice as being "in her blood."

Will this change be viewed as a healthy advancement for the royal family birth traditions, or just another form of Markle's refusal to follow the royal norm? Either way, the spring of 2019 will be an exciting one.
