Blogger Darnel Ghramm is calling out the lack of body diversity amongst male models. While there has definitely been a shift in the industry when it comes to female representation, Ghramm is bringing it to attention that when it comes to men, all you see is one body type.
His online campaign #WeAreBigAndTall started by staging the same type of photo shoot as the recent Calvin Klein jeans line. The men dressed in all denim and posed with a red quilt blanket, similar to the Kardashian-Jenner images.
"We exist, and we are constituted by many different things," Ghramm told Mic.com. "Whether big, tall or simply fall outside of the world's standards, we are all handsome and worthy. We must continue to push the boundaries, and unfortunately, we gotta work twice as hard to prove ourselves. We will eventually earn our spot, as wrong as that sounds," he said.
As representation and equality rise throughout the fashion industry, magazine covers and online ads are starting to look more inclusive. Ghramm's project is a step in the direction of this male movement.
