FOOD McDonald’s

When anyone sees the golden arches, they know exactly what they are getting. Known for double stacked burgers, french fries, and creamy milkshakes, McDonald's definitely has its staple menu items. However, through the years of the fast-food chain's international reign, there have been a few mysterious dishes that disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Check out this list to see all of the McDonald's dishes you never knew existed.

1. McHotdog
The McHotdog was introduced to the chain in the '90s but quickly discontinued due to health concerns. Today, the only place you can order it is in some Japanese McDonald locations.

2. McPizza
The McPizza started cooking in the '80s as an attempt to compete with growing pizza chains such as Dominos and Pizza Hut.

3. Arch Deluxe
This specialty burger was created in 1996 as the fancy alternative to a Big Mac. It was discontinued after failing to become popular. The Arch Deluxe is considered one of the most expensive marketing campaign flops of all time.

4. McJordan
In 1992, the McJordan was created to pay tribute to Michael Jordan. The burger came with a special sauce.

5. Hula Burger
The Hula Burger was created in the '60s as a meat-free alternative on the menu. It was a slice of grilled pineapple with cheese on a bun.

6. Onion Nuggets
Before there were chicken nuggets, there were onion nuggets.

7. McSalad Shakers
These were salads in a milkshake cup that you could add dressing to and shake before eating. They were short-lived and replaced with premium salads in 2003.
