When it comes to delicious pastries, bigger is definitely better. The largest single baklava dish to ever be made weighs a whopping 700 lbs, and just broke the Guinness World Record, according to NowThis.  

For those who have yet to indulge in it, baklava is a dessert pastry that is made of layers of filo dough,  filled with sweetened, chopped nuts, and held together with syrup or honey. Normally, baklava is a small square that is often just two or three bites, but this award-winning baklava is no ordinary dessert.

This giant dish was baked in a massive tray that is 8 ft wide and 25 ft long. It consisted of over 300 lbs of butter and 175 lbs of walnuts. To accomplish this mission, 14 chefs in Turkey came together to create it. The giant baklava was presented at the Gastronomy Summit in Ankara, Turkey.

Historically, both Turkey and Greece have debated where the origins of baklava began. Hungry Greeks are hoping for their country's rebuttal.
