As snow falls around Britain, people are responding by spreading articles of outerwear to homeless people who are freezing on the street.

An annual campaign that was started by Gavyn Emery in 2015, called "Keep Bristol Warm," includes tying warm clothing to posts and railings with a note attached. What started as a local good deed has now become a viral online phenomenon that has inspired people internationally.

The notes attached to the hats, scarves, blankets, and gloves all read a similar message: "I am not lost. If you are in need, please take me to keep warm."

People have been posting photos of the warm gifts on social media. One user posted a picture of a hat and scarf on a pole saying, "Was rushing through Bristol to get home and out of the cold when I saw the street in front of me was filled with hats, gloves and scarves for those who don’t have a home to rush to. Each with a label: “I am not lost. If you need me take me.” Overwhelmed. #kbw #keepbristolwarm"

As the temperatures fluctuate this winter, remember those who could use some knitted kindness.
