The animated adult TV series, 'Big Mouth' is so stupid that it's brilliant. With a character called "The Hormone Monster," episodes that address both male and female sexuality, and parents that just don't understand, 'Big Mouth' may be one of the most important comedy commentaries to date.

Created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett, the series follows seventh grade best friends Nick and Andrew as they navigate the turbulent waters of puberty.

From awkwardly holding hands in the back of the bus to escaping the wrath of your friend's evil older brothers at a sleepover, each scene will make you simultaneously cringe and laugh.

The character depth is surprising and the cultural references are fresh and intelligent. 'Big Mouth' portrays an accurate representation of how kids actually feel during this tumultuous time in their lives. The coming-of-age cartoon may be crass, but realistically, so is middle school.
