In the new TV series from Freeform called 'Siren,' audiences will see mermaids as they've never been seen before. The show is set in Bristol Cove, a town with a mysterious history of sea creatures and mermaid sightings.
According to the Freeform website, the series will follow what happens "When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean."
Rather than the standard portrayal of mermaids as a beautiful mythical creature, this series will show the dark power they contain—and what happens when the delicate balance of geography gets upset.
'Siren' will star Eline Powell, known for her role in 'Game of Thrones,' Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun, and Rena Owen. The story was created by executive producers Eric Wald and Dean White.
