CELEBRITY Jennifer Lawrence

In Jennifer Lawrence's time as a mainstream Hollywood actor, she has always been a beacon of female empowerment. In a 2014 scandal, her private photos were leaked to the public, leaving the star victimized and adverse to future on-screen nudity.

She previously told W Magazine that when it came to revealing herself further, "I’ve always been like, 'Absolutely no way'— especially after what happened — 'no way am I ever gonna do anything sexual,'" she said.

However, Lawrence's current film, 'Red Sparrow' was the first time she felt she could reclaim her sexuality publicly.

She told '60 Minutes,' her decision came when, "I read this script that I'm dying to do, and the one thing that's getting in my way is nudity," she said. "And I realized there's a difference between consent and not. And I showed up for the first day and I did it. And I felt empowered. I feel like something that was taken from me I got back and am using in my art."

In 'Red Sparrow' Lawrence plays a prima ballerina turned international spy. With confidence radiating off of the screen, the star's role is entirely her own.

The film is scheduled to be released on March 2.
