CELEBRITY Chef

Teen chef, Josh Reisner, is looking at cooking ramen from a unique perspective. At only 14 years old, the Forrest Hills, Queens, native has found his passion in Japanese cuisine.

Reisner was a contestant on season two of Master Chef Junior when he was just 10 years old. After the show, he began working as an unpaid intern for notable chefs in his area. Without even a drivers license, Reisner is already a seasoned professional.

“When I’m cooking, I feel very comfortable,” Reisner explained to Now This. “When I was five, I did little league baseball, and I hated it so much. And, it’s not that which made me into a chef — like little league didn’t make me a chef. What made me a chef was trying all these different foods, going to all these different restaurants and really developing a palate.”

This teen chef is adopting different methods of cooking noodles, broth, and meat. Reisner is looking for the lightest adaptations of traditional ingredients to create the optimal bowl of ramen.
