The controversy began in March, when R&B artist, Trey Songz, turned himself in to authorities on suspicions of domestic abuse. Following the news, 50 Cent wrote via Instagram, "Everybody know he ain’t hit her this a money play, smh any thing to get the Bag, #thesehoescrazy.” Though the post was later deleted, the implications and discussions surrounding it cannot be erased.
Months later, fans and foes of the rapper are still battling it out via social media, attempting to define, understand, and debate the degrees of victim blaming.
