David Beckham has joined the British Fashion Council in a new role. Beckham will become the BFC’s ambassadorial president, building partnerships in Asia and the USA. He will also put the spotlight on rising talent in the British fashion industry. Speaking with Vogue, Beckham explained what exactly he’ll be doing. “My role is to [...] shine a light on the incredible fashion talent we have here in the UK, and hopefully open up new exciting opportunities for them in markets like the US and China,” he said.
David Beckham has had a long relationship with fashion. He's previously appeared on the cover of GQ and Esquire magazine. The soccer star also landed a multimillion dollar contract with Adidas, which includes his own branded Adidas products. In a BFC press release, Beckham said, "I have long been passionate about British style, fashion and craftsmanship.” He added, “this role gives me the chance to get under the skin of an industry I love.”
