Pauley Perrette recently left her best-known role as forensic scientist Abby Sciuto on the series 'NCIS,' after starring on the show for 15 seasons. Now, after her official departure, she has come forward about multiple physical assault allegations in a series of tweets.
Four days after appearing in her final episode of 'NCIS,' the actress went public about her alleged physical attacks, which occurred at her place of work. She wrote, "Maybe I'm wrong for not 'spilling the beans' Telling the story, THE TRUTH. I feel I have to protect my crew, jobs and so many people. But at what cost?"
Maybe I'm wrong for not "spilling the beans" Telling the story, THE TRUTH. I feel I have to protect my crew, jobs and so many people. But at what cost? I.don't know. Just know, I'm trying to do the right thing, but maybe silence isn't the right thing about crime. I'm... Just... ?

Comedian Kathy Griffin was stirred by the news and reached out via Twitter to show her support for the actress in a four-part thread. The two have been friends for years, and Griffin had nothing but praise for the actress in the first tweet. Griffin's part two of the thread defended Perrette, admitting that, like herself, Perrette is a woman of privilege, but emphasizing the fact that it doesn't take away from her risk in speaking out. Part three asked people to continue to support Perrette's endeavors in defiance of those who dislike when women speak out. The final piece called upon Griffin's followers to thank Perrette for telling the truth.
A) I want to say a couple things about @PauleyP. I love and adore Pauley and I support her 100% and hope you will too. I've known Pauley for years and she is a wonderful, empathetic, and talented woman and friend. Last year during the Trump stuff she was there for me on day one. https://t.co/WOzOLcNA2U

B) Yes, @PauleyP, like me, is in a position of privilege but everyone needs to know that she took a big risk by tweeting what she did and speaking out. Even in the #MeToo era - the men who run this industry still see it as a major inconvenience when women reveal the truth pic.twitter.com/Fs0ZDIgrnH

C) Pauley is coming off a long stint on NCIS - whatever she does next whether its a play, tv show, movie - please go out and support it, show the men (and some women) in the industry who don't like it when women like @PauleyP speak out that they're wrong.

D) But right now, if you're a @PauleyP fan (or even if you're just getting to know who she is) - please join me in thanking her for speaking out and telling the truth. pic.twitter.com/FOkK384ar6

CBS responded to Perrette's public claims by explaining that the actress had come to them before and that the company worked with her to find a resolution, adding that they are committed to creating a safe workplace for their employees. Perrette thanked them for always having her back, and the Twitterverse finally got to see a good example of a positive corporate reaction to sexual assault allegations.
