Queen Latifah has a positive message for the girls and young women of the world who are thinking about joining the Girl Scouts. As the voice of the company's latest public service announcement, the actor and hip-hop artist shared an empowering message.
The video showed a wide array of successful Girl Scouts throughout history, from Melinda Gates to athletes like Venus Williams and Jackie Joyner-Kersee. She also mentioned politicians such as Senator Tammy Duckworth and Senator Susan Collins. Latifah continued on, paying homage to award-winning leaders of tech and journalism like YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki as well as Barbara Walters and Katie Couric. She kept the girl power celebration going all the way to supermodel and coding entrepreneur, Karlie Kloss, and many, many others.
“Not just making our mark but making a difference — now that’s a job for a Girl Scout,” Latifah says in the 'Lifetime of Leadership' PSA. “Girl Scouts: Preparing girls for a lifetime of leadership,” she concludes.
