For the first time since the tragic attack, Ariana Grande has opened up about what happened and her emotional process following the Manchester Arena bombing. On May 21, 2017, in Manchester, England, a suicide attack in the foyer at one of Grande's concerts left 22 dead and hundreds injured as fans were exiting the concert.

Featured as one of Time Magazine's Next Generation Leaders, Grande spoke out about the night and how she and her music have been changed forever.

“The last thing I would ever want is for my fans to see something like that happen and think it won,” Grande said in the cover story. "Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world. I think that’s why it’s still so heavy on my heart every single day."

Grande continued to say that, "I wish there was more that I could fix. You think with time it’ll become easier to talk about. Or you’ll make peace with it. But every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful.”

Last month, Grande released her first single since the attack, titled 'No Tears Left To Cry.' The music video for the song features a yellow worker bee, which is the symbol of Manchester.
