Actor and writer Wanda Sykes took to Twitter to announce that she would no longer be a consulting producer for the sitcom 'Roseanne.' This announcement follows the immense backlash from a tweet posted by Roseanne Barr about the former Obama adviser, Valerie Jarett.
Sykes took to Twitter to say, "I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC."

As the consulting producer for the series, this statement will have a significant impact on the future of 'Roseanne.'
In an interview with Metro in April, Sykes was asked why she worked with Barr when they had such differing views. Sykes responded, "I'm a Roseanne fan. I'm a fan of the show. It saddens me, but it also cracks me up. Extreme anything is nuts. Extreme left is just as nuts as the extreme right." She continued to say that, "The only way that we're going to patch things up in this country is the people in the middle got to start talking to each other instead of just battling it out on Twitter."
Following the wave of backlash, Barr apologized for her "bad joke" and announced she will be leaving Twitter.
