In October 2017, Dr. Phil was involved in a collision with a skateboarder when exiting a Universal Studios parking structure. Though the victim in question, Terrence Bembury, was gearing up to file a lawsuit against the psychologist and TV host, newly surfaced surveillance footage proves there was no damage, according to TMZ.
At the site of the collision, law enforcement told reporters that Dr. Phil hit the skateboarder when he was trying to overtake a van in the left lane. An ambulance was called and the Los Angeles Police Department took a traffic injury report, TMZ reported on October 21.
Though Dr. Phil may have been worried about his car insurance before, the video footage could fully exonerate him. The skateboarder's attorney, John H. Mardoyan, told TMZ that, "After viewing the video footage, we have decided to no longer represent Terrence Bembury in the matter."
