CELEBRITY Danny devito

After a devoted 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' fan took a life-sized cardboard cutout of Danny DeVito to her high school prom, the actor had little choice but to return the favor.

DeVito stars as Frank Reynolds on the comedy series and is currently filming his 13th season of the show. When the media got wind that fan Allison Closs took a cardboard cutout of DeVito to her school dance, she became a viral sensation.

In an interview with NME, Closs said, “I couldn’t find myself a date in real life or with an actual human, so I bought one on Amazon." She explained, “I have always loved Danny. I loved him on 'It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,' I loved him in 'Hercule's and 'Matilda.' I just love him in every form he takes. Danny was there for me when I really needed him. He treats me the way a woman should be treated.”

On June 4, DeVito's costar, Rob McElhenney, posted a photo to Instagram, saying, “I heard you took cardboard Danny to Prom. What a coincidence. He took cardboard Allison to Paddy’s…” Closs was thrilled.
