In 2018, it really may be celebrities that have the most political pull. According to reports from TMZ, Pamela Anderson is considering asking President Trump to officially pardon her friend and WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange.

Falling in line with Kim Kardashian successfully heading to the White House to lobby for Alice Marie Johnson's early release from prison, Anderson may just see if she can use her star power to do the same.

Anderson's friendship with Assange has been a subject in the media for quite some time. Evading extradition to Sweden and an espionage investigation from the US, Assange is currently hiding out at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, UK.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Anderson has visited and communicates with Assange often.

"He's cut off from everybody," the former 'Baywatch' actor said of Assange allegedly being restricted from internet access. "I'm always bringing him vegan food, but he eats very simply. I talked to him on the phone the day [the internet] was shut off. He sent me an urgent call. And now, nothing," she said.

Anderson continued to explain that, "'He's just ruffling the feathers of people that are powerful. I always try to humanize him because people think's he's a robot or he's a computer screen or he's not this human being," she said.

Perhaps President Trump should be expecting a visit soon from Anderson. Only time will tell if this famed star can impact international political tensions.
