Bode Miller, the most successful male American alpine ski racer of all time, lost his 19-month-old daughter in a terrible drowning accident.
The former World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist was at a neighbor's party with his family when Emiline was found in the pool, according to TMZ. The Orange County Fire Department revealed that it was unclear how long she had been in the pool, and that paramedics were not able to resuscitate her with CPR.
Emeline Grier Miller, the youngest of Miller's three children, passed away in a hospital on Sunday.
Miller posted a picture of his daughter on Instagram and wrote, "We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to it’s fullest everyday. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time."
Miller's Instagram followers are sending their condolences to both him and his family during this trying time.
