Ellen DeGeneres has announced that she will be returning to the stage for her first stand-up comedy shows in 15 years. Taking to Twitter to announce the tour, the talk show host shared dates for shows in San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle.

The comedian wrote, "I’m doing my first standup shows in 15 years. I’m coming to Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego. Come see me."

Last year, Netflix challenged DeGeneres to return to the stage for a comedy special. In May of 2017, the official Netflix US Twitter account said, "Looks like it's been 15 years since you did a stand-up special, @TheEllenShow. How about one for Netflix?" It wasn't long until the talk show host agreed to the challenge.

On her show, she elaborated on the social media exchange, saying, "Earlier this week, I got a tweet from the people at Netflix and I have good news and bad news. The bad news is they wouldn't tell me what happened to Barb on 'Stranger Things', but the good news is they asked if I was interested in doing a stand-up special. I said I'm going to have to think about it and then 30 seconds later I said yes," she confirmed.

"It has been 15 years since I did a stand-up special. 15 years. And I'm writing it now, I can't wait. I'll keep you posted when and where I'm gonna shoot my Netflix special. I'm excited to do it; I'm excited for you to see it. And now, each one of you, you get to Netflix and chill with me. How about that?"



While there are no official dates for when we can stream DeGeneres from our laptops, her West Coast stand-up comedy tour is coming soon!
