Just less than two weeks before the shocking news of Anthony Bourdain's death, he was accompanying his girlfriend, Asia Argento, in Florence, Italy. The two were on location filming for an episode of Bourdain's series 'Parts Unknown.'
Still mourning the loss of Bourdain, she shared a photo to Instagram of the two driving in a convertible. Argento's caption was taken from the original Italian text of Dante’s 'Divine Comedy: Inferno.'
The translated passage reads, “There is no greater pain than to remember happy days in days of misery; and this thy Leader knows. But if to know the first root of our love so yearning a desire possesses thee, I’ll do as one who weepeth while he speak.” Argento then dated the photo on May 27, 2018.
On June 8, just two weeks later, Bourdain was found dead in his hotel room in Strasbourg, France. The world is forever saddened by the loss of the great documentarian.
