Demi Lovato is "awake and recovering" after heroin overdose

Singer-songwriter Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment for an alleged heroin overdose, according to reports from TMZ.
Official law enforcement sources have told the publication that Lovato was urgently transported from her home in Hollywood Hills to a Los Angeles hospital where she is currently being treated.
A spokesperson for Lovato reached out to TMZ to say, "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy ... "
As a vocal advocate for destigmatizing mental health and overcoming addiction, the news of Lovato's overdose comes as a shock to many. In a recent song titled 'Sober,' fans believe Lovato admitted to relapsing. “I’m sorry that I’m here again. I promise I’ll get help,” she sings. “It wasn’t my intention. I’m sorry to myself.”
