It may be 2018, but when you are apart of the British royal family, there are ancient practices and standards that a Duchess has to agree to. As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to enjoy their life together as newlyweds, there is a ticking clock for them to make a royal baby!

According to reports from New Idea, the Duchess of Sussex had to undergo invasive fertility exams before marrying into the royal family. "Meghan was disgusted when she was asked to undergo a fertility test,' an inside palace source revealed. "But she was so intent on joining the royal family she submitted to it."

Apparently, the pressure to start a family is coming from Queen Elizabeth II. "Meghan and Harry have been prodded by the Queen to start a family in the coming months," the publication reports.

While some may be shocked to discover the lengths the royals go to ensure fertility, this is not a new ordeal for the family's brides. Princess Diana allegedly had to be inspected by a gynecologist to ensure her virginity before her wedding. Though this was not the case for 37-year-old Markle.
