CELEBRITY Rihanna

As part of her Fenty clothing collaboration with PUMA, Rihanna had the company stick the letters F.U.—standing for Fenty University—on sweatshirts, jewellery, and sandals. Another company apparently took that F.U. very personally and is prepared to sue her for it.

Freedom United Clothing filed a lawsuit claiming that it owns the 'FU' trademark since they've been using it since 2006, and that Rihanna stole it from them. It sounds like a stretch, which the company was probably aware of, so they provided more details to back up their accusations.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the company claims the singer and beauty industry mogul knew there was an existing FU logo because she was reportedly spotted wearing one of their hoodies in 2014. Plus, they mention that her then-boyfriend Chris Brown had previously attended Freedom United's launch party in 2007.

In a far less convincing but much more entertaining argument, the suit also uses PUMA's website, which refers to Rihanna as someone who is "most likely to break the rules," as further evidence supporting their case against the alleged lawbreaking singer.

Freedom United had apparently sent a cease-and-desist letter when they first saw the letters appear, demanding that PUMA and Rihanna stop using the F.U. logo, but since their demands were not met, they've decided to take legal action.

Now the question is, will Rihanna pay up, or will she put those two letters to use once more?

Campo obrigatório
