CELEBRITY Justin bieber

Aaron Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, once held the hearts of teenage girls in one hand. He started performing at just seven years old and released his debut album three years later, which sold a million copies worldwide. Three years after that, his second album 'Aaron's Party' sold three million copies in the US alone, and he was a certifiable star.

So what has he been up to since the early 00's? Apparently, not getting the credit he feels he deserves.

The singer, now 30 years old, was recently set off on Twitter when a user wondered aloud why Carter never reached the same level of success as modern pop sensation Justin Bieber

Carter couldn't let it slide. "I’ve been in this industry before he was born. I’ve had harder times and always bounce back." Among the hardships of trailblazing the child pop star path, Carter has had various struggles involving drug abuse and arrests in the past. He continued, "I paved the way. These kids have NEVER paid me homage."

Bieber caught wind of his predecessor's frustration and tweeted, "Aaron carter I had your album when I was little. And bumped the song Aaron’s party. I was like 7." While he's probably emphasizing how early on he was influenced by Carter, it can't help but sound like Bieber is also highlighting the fact that Carter's time was a long while ago. To make things even more awkward, Bieber offered his help to the former sensation. "If you need a hype man I got you."

Perhaps predicting the shade that would be perceived in those words, Bieber followed up with another tweet that said, "All love over here Aaron. You got my support."

Carter might've also perceived the shade and replied, "No hype needed." He explained that people are always trying to disrespect him and that he's just doing his best. He added, "I’ve also been a big supporter of you since your start. I also stood in line to watch your movie man." Not only that, but Carter admitted that Bieber's music inspired his newest album.

In the wake of this near-feud between former teenage heartthrobs, Carter is receiving a huge amount of publicity for himself and his new album 'LØVË.' It turns out Bieber gave him the attention he wanted anyway.
