We all have a favorite type of chocolate, whether it's dark, milk, or white. But have you heard about the fourth kind of chocolate to hit the market?
Created by chocolatier Barry Callebaut, ruby chocolate is a bold-tasting treat that has a mix of fruity flavors with classic cocoa smoothness.
Ruby chocolate comes from the ruby cocoa bean through a unique process discovered by the creators. The flavor and color of the chocolate are entirely natural, without added dye or fruit.
Peter Boone, Barry Callebaut’s Chief Innovation & Quality Officer, said, "We’re looking forward to working with our partners on introducing this innovative breakthrough to the market and making the new Ruby chocolate category available to chocolate manufacturers and consumers around the world as the fourth reference next to Dark, Milk and White chocolate," according to the chocolatier's website.
Discovered in September of 2017, ruby chocolate is the first discovery of its kind in the last 80 years.
