FOOD Kombucha

Over the last decade, kombucha went from being a niche health drink to a fizzy, fermented, phenomenon. Now, kombucha has expanded further than the shelves of Whole Foods and into local breweries and specialty bars.

Tiffany Lach is the owner of Compass Cafe in Big Sky, MT. She saw her vision become a reality as the bar offers a range of kombucha drinks on tap, as well as other craft beers and homemade teas.

“A lot of people drink [kombucha] because their friends drink it. They know its good for you; it helps with their belly and helps with a hangover,” Lach told Mic.com, discussing how the probiotics in kombucha are said to promote stomach health. “It could be a myth — but if I have an upset tummy, [kombucha] is the first thing I go to,” she added.

The line of artfully curated wall taps at Compass Cafe looks like a millennial's dream—the perfect display for any social media post. “I wanted it to be simple and clean looking, and I wanted it to be gorgeous,” Lach said.

With 18 different kombuchas to taste from different breweries around the country, Compass Cafe is without a doubt a destination to discover.
