The outrage was somewhat delayed, as the world famous treat had gotten its halal certification some eight months prior. Halal is Arabic for "permissible," and mostly applies to meat products that need to be killed in a specific fashion, however it can be used in all different kinds of foods to ensure that it meets Islamic dietary requirements. In the case of Toblerone, it only consisted of some minor alterations, as they have stated that the recipe remains unchanged.
