Corporate America: which companies make the most political contributions? - Political campaigns are expensive, and candidates depend on contributions from donors. Because American politicians have to disclose how much they get in campaign contributions to the Federal Election Commission, this information is made public.

The website HowMuch analyzed the data regarding contributions from employees at America's 250,000 biggest companies and found that politicians received more than $30 million in donations between 2007 and 2017. It's important to note that these are contributions made by individuals employed at the companies, and not the institutions themselves, which would be illegal.
