Moringa is yet another "supergreen" that is new to those in the Western world, but has been used in Eastern medicine for centuries. Moringa oleifera is a horseradish tree which typically grows in India, Nepal, and Pakistan.
It has anti-inflammatory properties and it also is known to stabilize blood sugar and work as an antioxidant. Moringa is loaded with vitamin C, potassium, calcium, and amino acids.
This vitamin-packed powder is also a natural energy booster and 100% caffeine free. This powerful antioxidant protects the cardiovascular system and liver, as well as supporting brain health according to Mind Body Green.
Moringa maintains the health of your cells by fighting free radicals, and the antibacterial and antifungal properties fight infections as well. If that wasn’t enough, it also has been shown to lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels among diabetic patients.
It’s easy to use too! Moringa can be added to your morning smoothie or simply used with hot water as a tea. However, given the digestive-boosting power of the powder, it is best to use no more than a teaspoon each day (or even half a teaspoon). The new green is sure to be a smash hit!
