You may be surprised to find out where young people are flocking to these days. When it comes to rent prices, atmosphere, lifestyle, and work accessibility, it seems that millennials are beginning to ditch their dreams of The Big Apple and opt for cheaper locations with rising art and culture scenes. A study based out of Pew Research Center found that Washington, Colorado, and Texas were some of the top states for millennial migration. Interestingly, three locations in Virginia also ranked in among the top 10 cities. Check out the states and cities that are calling for young people in the US.

Top 10 states where millennials are moving and the net migration (the number of people between the ages of 20 and 34 that moved to the state minus the people that moved out of it):
1. Washington: 39,590
2. Texas: 33,650
3. Colorado: 26,547
4. Virginia: 18,338
5. Georgia: 17,621
6. Oregon: 11,989
7. North Carolina: 9,647
8. Nevada 8,820
9. Florida: 7,195
10. Arizona: 7,077

1. Seattle, WA: 7,302
2. Columbia, SC: 6,937
3. Sacramento, CA: 6,680
4. Minneapolis, MN: 6,529
5. Jacksonville, FL: 6,354
6. Newport News, VA: 5,667
7. San Jose, CA: 5,496
8. Denver, CO: 5,106
9. Norfolk, VA: 4,997
10. Virginia Beach, VA: 4,984
