Here is a reason why you may want to start considering house shoes or indoor slippers if you have not got a pair already: bacteria. That is right. The shoes you wear outdoors are a breeding ground for things like E. coli, C difficile, dog excrement and urine which you are tracking in and spreading around daily in your home if you are not checking your shoes at the door.
Your kicks can carry 442,000 different types of bacteria of which 90-99% are transferred into your house. This is not only bad news for you, but it could be a danger to house pets and crawling babies—no matter how clean you think your floors are or may look.
So, if you have not already made the switch, it is time to change to house shoes now to avoid getting sick and to protect you and your family from other yucky illnesses.
