The famed Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is being featured in a new documentary on her life's work and impact on pop culture. At the age of 84 years old, Ginsburg recounts her upbringing, marriage, and legacy as a legal champion for women's rights. Nicknamed Notorious RBG, the unexpected icon details how she approaches both duty and fame.
"I became a lawyer when women were not wanted by the legal profession," Ginsberg says in the trailer for the film. "I did see myself as kind of a kindergarten teacher back in those days because the judges didn't think sex discrimination existed." The documentary includes interviews from other women in politics, activists, and her family.
Titled, 'RBG' the film is created by documentarians Betsy West and Julie Cohen, and is co-produced by Magnolia Films, Storyville Films, and CNN Films. The official selection of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, 'RBG' will come to select theaters on May 4.
