Fans of the television show 'The Sopranos' will be excited to hear that a prequel film on the series is coming to theaters. Titled 'The Many Saints of Newark,' the movie is set in New Jersey in the 60s. It will be centered on the extreme racial tensions between African-Americans and Italians during the 1967 Newark Riots.

The crime drama, 'The Sopranos,' ran on television from 1999 through 2007. Based on the home life and crime realm that encircled Tony Soprano, the 21-time Emmy winning show is widely regarded as one of the best TV programs of all time. 

Fans of the show are hoping the movie will give insight on the lives of Johnny Boy Soprano and Junior Soprano, Tony's father and uncle.  

The lead writer from 'The Sopranos,' David Chase, will return to write the film's script. No official dates have been released on when the film will come to theaters.
