Roseanne Barr announces leaving Twitter after racist post

Roseanne Barr, the star of 'Roseanne,' is back in the headlines for her actions on social media. Targeting Valerie Jarett, a former Obama adviser, Barr took to Twitter to reference Islam, in combination with this offensive comment on the politician's appearance.

Another Twitter user was quick to point out that this is not the first comment of this kind from Barr. He shared a screenshot of a tweet that was posted in December of 2013, targeted at Susan Rice, the former US National Security Adviser. The user wrote, "Here's Roseanne Barr attacking Susan Rice -- it seems to be a pattern with her."

After waves of backlash online, Barr has officially written that she will be leaving the platform. The actor said, "I apologize. I am now leaving Twitter."
