Critics have spoken out about ‘Wild Wild Country,’ a new documentary series that focuses on a controversial religious community. The six-part series follows Rajneeshpuram, a religious community in 1980s Oregon led by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. The show closely investigates the commune, where members dressed in orange robes and lived on a farmer’s ranch. It features intimate interviews with key people involved with Rajneeshpuram.

The show has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with 13 positive critical reviews. In a review for RogerEbert.com, Nick Allen said “‘Wild Wild Country’ has a profound, mesmerizing power… by opening its heart to a very complicated idea of good and evil.” Writing for Vogue, Taylor Antrim said, “what a thrill to come across a subtle and strange discovery like this.” In a review for the Daily Dot, Audra Schroeder concurred, writing “‘Wild Wild Country’ will both astound and frustrate you.”

‘Wild Wild Country’ is available for streaming now.
