If you’re pining for a new series of ‘Black Mirror,’ it may just be your lucky day. A Polish-language remake of the series has recently taken the internet by storm. ‘Czarne Lusterko’ (“little Black Mirror”) was produced by Netflix Polska, and was filmed in an innovative way. Netflix’s social team asked Polish creatives on YouTube to produce short films inspired by ‘Black Mirror.’ The result? A four-episode series that both reflects and builds upon the themes of the original series. There’s moody atmosphere, fractured relationships, and, as always, a focus on the dark side of technology.
Travel vlogger Krzysztof Gonciarz was one of the creatives asked to produce an episode. His short film is spooky and psychedelic, focusing on how vloggers have the power to influence their viewers’ emotions. “I wanted the episode to be a kind of a clash of cinematic and vlog aesthetics”, he told i-D.
