Buzzfeed unveiled a new mobile docuseries aimed at teaching American history via a social media platform. Titled 'Future History: 1968,' Russian Journalists Mikhail Zygar and Karen Shainyan will examine one of the most landmark years in geopolitical history through this multimedia production.
This program will cover the most defining points of the turbulent year—"It was the year Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, Eartha Kitt was forced into exile after speaking her truth at the White House, and the U.S. and USSR were locked in the Space Race," Fast Company detailed.
'Future History: 1968' will be an entirely vertical production, employing different features such as Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, and Twitter to take an interactive and modern approach to documentary storytelling.
The episodes will be released weekly via Buzzfeed News. The first three episodes debuted on Saturday, April 21. You can watch the teaser for the series here.
