The Netflix adaptation of the 2014 film 'Dear White People' has just released its second season. Logan Browning stars as Sam White, a college radio host at Winchester University. The series takes a look at racial politics, both on a large scale and in personal experience.
In an interview with Nylon, Browning discusses the very real events that inspired her when approaching the second season. As a somewhat controversial show, the creators of 'Dear White People' and Browning alike felt the pressure of communicating sensitive topics well, while not being bullied away from the message.
"I just feel a kind of responsibility that I don't always feel when I'm doing a fictional show, you know, to represent myself as Logan, as a black woman, and as an African-American actress," Browning said. "I feel like the show is bigger than me. It's bigger than all of us... And as an activist, I just feel a responsibility to represent myself well."
'Dear White People' season two is now available for streaming on Netflix. You can watch the trailer for the series here.
