TV Cable

In the 2018 media industry Netflix is king, and we are its humble servants. As consumers are happy with the constant streaming power and no commercial breaks, TV networks have taken a severe blow to revenue. So, how can they compete? Many are looking to trim advertising time on cable channels.

So what networks are taking out the ax? According to Ad Age, Fox Networks Group will cut commercials by 40% during prime-time Saturday night run. For hit shows such as 'Family Guy' and 'The Simpsons,' the network will include short commercial bursts that will have two spots and be under a minute long.

NBC Universal is also reducing their on-air advertising dramatically. The network plans to cut commercials in about 50 original prime-time shows by 20%  and reduce the run time by 10%, according to Ad Age.

Only time will tell if these advertising cuts will have audiences picking up the remote.
