For everyone who is still wondering what happened to the Nisha call, the 'Serial' podcast is officially becoming a true-crime documentary. The creators of 'This American Life' took the world by storm when audio journalist Sarah Koenig set out to uncover the truth about a 1999 murder, and now HBO is continuing the investigation.
The subject of the case, Adnan Syed, is currently serving a life sentence for a crime he allegedly committed when he was 18 years old. After the world listened to Syed's endearing argument, his lawyer's faulty defense, and Koenig's genuine bewilderment about the case, audiences were begging for more—and now it's coming.
HBO and Sky are producing a documentary series titled, 'The Case Against Adnan Syed,' that will pick up where the podcast left off. "With exclusive access to Adnan Syed, his family, and his lawyers, director Amy Berg has been closely following their efforts to obtain justice, with the outcome still to be determined—and possibly shaped by the investigation pursued within the series itself," the show synopsis explains.
Though there is no official release date, audiences can look forward to a four-part docuseries with hour-long episodes. Who else hopes that the advertisements are from MailChimp?
