TV Conan o’brien

Conan O'Brien—and his hair—will forever be a staple of late-night entertainment. But as with many hosts, navigating the turbulent waters of talk show TV hasn't always been smooth for O'Brien.

“There was a long time when I thought that if you just worked hard, things took care of themselves,” the host said in an interview with Vulture. “I’ve learned that isn’t always the case. But at no moment have I ever felt anything less than incredibly lucky that my job is to make people laugh.”

In his 25-year-long career, O'Brien has served up laughter on 'Late Night,' 'The Tonight Show,' and his latest endeavor, 'Conan.' Recently, it was announced that in 2019, his show will move from an hour slot to a half-hour series.

Conan explained that a lot of the decision was finance-based rather than content-based, but he is working to find his stride in the middle of both. "There are parts of late night that feel very pro forma. At this stage in my career doing half an hour could shock me into coming up with new stuff," he said.

Check out 'Conan,' weeknights on TBS.
